US  SPECIAL  FORCES  &  JOINT  SPECIAL OPERATIONS
FINE  ART

Of all the galleries,  this collection of lithographs began in 2002 literally in Kandahar, Afghanistan with Solovey's first combat deployment in 2nd Battalion,  3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne).  This gallery currently spans up through JFK's posthumous induction into the Green Beret Hall of Fame in 2025.   Work listed within is displayed from most recent back until the very beginnings of the Global War on Terrorism immediately after 9/11.

"JFK  Ft. Bragg 1961" 2025

This pencil illustration represents Brig. Gen. Yarborough meeting President Kennedy at Ft. Bragg on Smoke Bomb Hill on October 11th, 1961.  This engagement is closely associated JFK authorizing U.S. Army Special Forces wearing the iconic Green Beret.

The particular fine art supported the April 2025 event in Pinehurst, NC wherein JFK was posthumously recognized as a Distinguished Member of the U.S. Army Special Forces Regiment.

"Send Me" 2023

In early 2023, Solovey began his first collaboration with the Veteran-owned Heritage Distilling Co. in the design, development, & production of the ground-breaking "SEND ME" ARSOF Whiskey ultimately supporting the charitable work of Army Special Operations Association (ARSOA).  Solovey's 8.5" x 11" original design was ultimately used as the label art.

The goal was to incorporate & represent all elements of the US Army SOF Community to include the "Night Stalkers" whilst giving back to the Warrior Class

Another Opportunity to Serve SF History

In late 2016, Solovey received a call from the First Special Service Force Association with the desire to capture the unit's history wherein both US & Canadian Soldiers volunteered to establish the "Black Devils" at Ft. William Henry Harrison in July 1942.  The unit served with distinction in the Aleutian Islands, Italy, & in southern France before disbanding in December 1944.   Below was the resulting lithograph.

Serving the Regiment

By late 2013, Solovey had served several tours between 3rd & 7th Group as well as USASOC.   In collaboration with both the local SF Association & the SF Museum, the idea was broached to produce a unique USSF lithograph.  The goal was to produce the first-ever USSF historical lineage collage representing all SF Groups (Active, National Guard, Past).  The final lithograph reaches back the French & Indian War with a subtle nod to American unconventional warfare

"Aim Small, Miss Small" 2014

"Let Freedom Ring" 2005

Arguably one of the most iconic Solovey lithographs from the early years of OEF with USSF featuring the SOF Ground Mobility Vehicles (GMVs).  These HMMWVs were heavily-modified to best support Special Forces.  The vehicles had features such as multiple weapons mounts, spare fuel cans, & a rear-mounted spare tire.  It was the modern version of the British SAS WW II Jeeps used in North Africa.

NOUS DEFIONS FRAMED.jpg

Solovey's 1st Special Forces Lithograph

On 9/11, while stationed at Ft. Benning, GA, Solovey pulled his ETS packet with the previous goal of becoming an architect.  Soon the Army offered him an assignment with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg, NC.  At this point, he had only a small handful of military lithographs from his previous duties in Germany & Bosnia.  Immediately upon signing-in to 3rd Group, he quickly found himself in Kandahar, Afghanistan in early 2002.

"Bush Hogs" 2002

With only a 13" x 16" piece of stiff canvas board, Solovey produced his first "Combat" piece of fine art in pencil.  The original electronic file was not of the best quality due to the rough texture of the canvas.
