Original Pencil Collage. At the request of the US Army Engineer Association, Solovey was asked to compose a bespoke pencil collage.

It would specifically highlight the designing & construction of prominent structures in Washington D.C. such as the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Pentagon, and the Arlington Memorial Bridge.  Several other historical allusions are made dating back to the US Civil War.

The original was completed & mailed from Naples, Italy.  When it arrived at the print shop in Virginia, this original was heavily damaged & wrinkled.  It was re-flattened and ironed over thick towels.  The remaining folds & wrinkles were electronically erased to produce the subsequent set of lithographs.
