Original pencil collage completed in Naples, Italy.

First pencil collage (of two) focusing on the founding of VMI in 1830 as the Nation's First Senior Military College up through the World War I era.   

Included are the "Old Hospital" which now serves as the Chaplain's office, the Battle of New Market Mural within Jackson Memorial Hall, Virginia Mourning Her Dead, the original "Limits Gates", Lt. George C. Marshall, and Cadet Cavalry.

Also featured is how the original VMI barracks existed during the 1800s with the statue of Gen. George Washington in front of it.
